2005 Corvette

The 2005 Arctic White Corvette with Cobalt Red interior and a six-speed manual is special because it combines historical colors with the purest version of the first-year C6.

• First year of the C6: The 2005 introduced a smaller, sharper body, the new LS2 engine and exposed headlights—the first Corvette without pop-up headlights since 1962.
• 400-hp LS2: Its 6.0-liter V8 produced 400 hp and 400 lb-ft, enough for roughly 0–60 mph in the low-four-second range.
• Desirable six-speed manual: The manual gives the car a more engaging personality and a useful 3.42 axle ratio. It is particularly appealing because the 2005 automatic was still an older four-speed.
• Uncommon Arctic White: Only 1,968, or 5.3%, of the 37,372 Corvettes built for 2005 were white.
• Rare Cobalt Red interior: Only 1,710, or 4.6%, received the red interior.
• Manual minority: A total of 14,992, about 40%, had a six-speed manual, including standard and Z51-equipped cars.
• Historic color connection: White over red echoes the original 1953 Corvette, every example of which was Polo White with a red interior. It gives the car a subtle heritage character without being an official commemorative edition.
